Abby Schiff

Foodie. Feminist. Educator.

Hi there! I’m Abby, the culinary goddess behind Yes to Yummy. I currently run the commercial kitchen at Riverbank Farm, a diversified organic vegetable farm in Roxbury, CT. I am also a 200 Hour Certified Yoga Teacher and in the past, I was the program officer at Allergic to Salad, a youth culinary organization that brings cooking classes into New York City schools. I graduated summa cum laude from New York University with a B.S. in Nutrition & Food Studies in May 2019, but have been cooking, baking, and talking about both since I was in elementary school.

This blog began when I was just fourteen years old, a curious teen looking to share her recipes and humble musings with her community. A decade later, Yes to Yummy continues, growing and changing right along with me as I’ve gotten older. I began this journey as an anxious kid struggling with an eating disorder; now, I stand before you as a much healthier, more confident woman, poised to make a difference in the world through food, mindfulness, and education.

Today, Yes to Yummy is an interdisciplinary hub of my latest interests and projects, ranging from donation-based virtual yoga classes to Intersectional Feminist Book Club. But whatever I do, my fundamental approach remains the same: have compassion, lead from a place of love, and take a moment to laugh. I’m always looking to learn, grow, and share, and hope you’ll stick along for the ride.
